- There are 22.11 lakh active registered companies and LLPs in India at present.
- The month of January 2025 saw 23,079 new companies incorporated in 5,207 pincodes (compared with 18,235 new companies incorporated in 4,502 pincodes in December 2024).
- 3.54 lakh of these companies have a secured loan from a bank or an NBFC.
- As of January 2025, there are 2,761.8k active directors and 50.9k foreign directors in India.
The region-wise breakup of active entities in India as of 31-Jan-2025:
- North Region has 268.5k companies and 44.3k LLPs covering 5 states (Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh).
- East Region has 240.9k companies and 30.6k LLPs covering 5 states (West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Sikkim).
- South Region has 449.5k companies and 89.0k LLPs covering 5 states (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh).
- West Region has 521.2k companies and 161.3k LLPs covering 4 states (Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa).
- Central Region has 58.1k companies and 9.5k LLPs covering 2 states (Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh).
- North East Region has 20.0k companies and 2.8k LLPs covering 7 states (Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram).
- Union Territories of India have 272.6k companies and 42.0k LLPs covering 9 UTs (Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Pondicherry, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman & Diu, Ladakh, Lakshadweep).
